Registered Nurse / RN 


The RN will deliver quality advanced practice psychiatric nursing care to adult patients and serve as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.  The RN is responsible for assessing the patient; collecting and documenting the patient’s current health status and medical history.  The RN will complete and/or review Admission Data Record as defined by policy.  Currently seeking RN's as Admission and Unit Nurses full and part-time positions available.


  • Make accurate and ongoing assessments of patient’s status as appropriate
  • Review patient records indicating that assessments contain review of relevant major body systems, physiological parameters, self-care needs, allergies, vocational needs or deficits, current medication status, initial discharge plan
  • Review patient records ensuring an emotional/behavioral evaluation is conducted on each patient within eight hours of admission and includes data such as; definition and history of presenting problem and Alcohol & Drug use history
  • Document evidence of ongoing reassessment which is to be documented in the patients’ treatment plan and progress notes.
  • Document all patient transfers with an assessment that reflects current medical and risk status
  • Ensure document review show that forms, notes, logs and other applicable written information has been completed promptly and accurately
  • Effectively assess unusual, complex or otherwise difficult cases
  • Proactively identify potential problems and educates unit staff
  • Track recurring problems
  • Provide training to unit staff
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures
  • Comply with infection control policies and system’s; BSI, OSHA, Blood borne Pathogens standards

Job Requirements


Registered Nurse / RN 


A graduate of an accredited Nursing program and possesses current RN's license in state of practice, demonstrates sound leadership skills and utilizes these skills in organizing the activities and schedules for medical and/or non-medical tasks of the Adult for a given shift; record of consistently high quality of clinical and interpersonal skills to be an exemplary role model to others; displays basic knowledge of treatment procedures; interventions common to acute psychotic as well as to non-violent crises intervention practice; record of consistently high quality of clinical and interpersonal skills to be a role model to others; basic knowledge of abnormal psychology as typically found in the adult psychiatric population; application of this knowledge to adult care; through familiarly of psycho-pharmacy and the use of psychotropic medications with adult psychiatric population; basic teaching and training skills helpful; problem-solving; organizational and time management; crisis intervention skills; written and oral communication skills; skills in facilitating and/or co-facilitating process oriented and didactic groups; eligible for CPR and CPI certification; skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a variety of clinical and support team members; empathy for patients and their families; flexibility regarding hours and scheduled worked; skills in maintaining information as highly confidential


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and be able to perceive the attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, and/or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips.  Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly.  .  Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers.

Individual must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and to be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe patients on the unit and in therapeutic activities.  While worker may possibly be subjected to temperature changes, the worker is generally not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as the work is predominantly inside.
